AFRICA
RESPONDS!
November
3-20, 2011
MANY SEEKERS
I
recently returned from Uganda and Kenya where God blessed
the open air evangelistic meetings (crusades), youth
meetings, and pastor/wives conference. It is estimated that
over 200 Africans sought Christ, one of which was a police
woman! Many believers sought spiritual renewal, married
couples received counseling, youth made commitments toward
sexual purity, and numerous individuals with health issues
were prayed for.
MEDICAL
ASSISTANCE
Dr. Luis San José,
a medial doctor, pastor, and friend, accompanied me on this
trip. He was a great asset as he held seminars on health,
examined many, and performed surgeries at the Tenwek
Hospital in Kenya.
SURPRISE!
And what a surprise and
blessing it was to have my son, Peter, join me, coming all
the way from Azerbaijan for the Kenya crusades. It was also
a blessing to be with my brother, Hubert, president of World
Gospel Mission, while in Uganda.
GRATEFUL
Both Dr. Luis and I are
grateful to the missionaries and to the Africa Gospel Church
(170 churches in Uganda and 1,600 in Kenya) for their warm
and gracious hospitality, and for organizing the events that
we were involved in.
HUNGER
PREVAILS
Africa still remains wide open
to the gospel. And in spite of high unemployment, social
problems, poverty and aids, people are hungry for the Gospel
and are finding forgiveness and new life in Christ. One
example was the conversion of the Muslim hotel manager where
we stayed while in Uganda.
THANK YOU
My deepest thanks to my wife,
Karol, who "held the fort" during the three weeks I was
gone, and to all of you for your prayers and support which
makes this ministry possible.

BOLIVIA
REPORT
September 5-18, 2011
In
September I traveled to Bolivia, the country where I spent
most of my childhood and teen years as a missionary kid, and
where my parents served for 37
years planting the Good Seed. Their efforts,
along with many other missionaries and Bolivian Christians,
have resulted in a vibrant and growing church with
more than 100 congregations.
Travels in the country took me
to two tropical cities, Trinidad
and Ascención, and to El Alto, located in the
Andean Mountains at 13,000 feet. Because of the intense
speaking schedule, David Kerney (a young World Gospel
Mission missionary serving with his family in Bolivia)
accompanied me and did a splendid job in
conveying spiritual truths and
practical helps in the leadership conferences.
God
blessed the open air evangelistic crusade in the
city of Ascención. Advertising through TV and radio,
churches united to make it happen. Several hundred attended
the meetings and more than 100
people sought Christ for the first time. Local
pastors are doing follow up work with those individuals to
provide discipleship.
During the two youth rallies
held in Trinidad and El Alto, many
made spiritual commitments and pledged to live lives of
purity, in a society where sexual temptations and
pressures are endless.
I was also privileged to
speak on TV and radio in
Ascención, and in the capital city of La Paz. Both pastors
and church leaders who face incredible challenges, were
refreshed, renewed and challenged
to do the work of ministry with integrity.
Preliminary plans are now underway to return to the city of
El Alto next year to hold a
Christian musical festival for the purpose of winning many
more to Christ.
Thank you for your prayers and
support which makes this ministry possible.
God's Spirit is still at work!

GUATEMALA
REPORT
July 21 – August 8, 2011
OPEN DOORS
AND OPPORTUNITIES
It was my privilege, along with
Tom Dunbar (retired World Gospel Mission missionary), to
spend over two weeks in Guatemala City and other areas of
the country. We traveled approximately 1300 kilometers
(around 800 miles) overland to seven different cities and
communities, speaking over 30 times to 1500
to 2000 people whether it was to
congregations, pastors, lay leaders, married couples, young
people, not to mention the outreach on radio. We were
treated royally with great hospitality and blessed with a
daily diet of beans, tortillas, eggs,
and coffee.
A LAND OF
BEAUTY
Guatemala, meaning the land of
the trees, is a beautiful mountainous tropical country
located in the heart of Central America. Even though Spanish
is the official language, there are 24 indigenous languages
that are still spoken. And thanks to the past efforts of
pioneer missionaries and the present ministries of numerous
churches and denominations throughout the land, Guatemala
now has a very high percentage of evangelical Christians.
Yet, there is much more work to be done as as the country
faces a formidable crime wave.
RENEWAL AND
REVIVAL
God moved in hearts as many
night after night came forward seeking forgiveness and
purity, many with tears who poured their hearts out to the
Lord. Church leaders and pastors also responded and eagerly
absorbed the Word, and were challenged to live pure and
spirit-filled lives in their communities and churches.
Couples received marital counseling on how to have a stable
and lasting marriage in the midst of today's pressures and
temptations. Numerous young people made spiritual
commitments and vows toward sexual purity. God be praised!
THANK YOU
My deepest gratitude to the
Francis Asbury Society, faithful donors, and to the generous
offerings of the Guatemalan churches that made our trip to
Guatemala, and travels in the country possible. Our
heart-felt thanks to pastors Ana
and Rivera who arranged the meetings in Guatemala City, and
to pastor Elías
who provided transportation and
coordinated all of the events that were held in other
regions of the country. And last but not least, a big thank
you to my wife, Karol, who packs my suitcase and follows me
with her prayers during the days I am away from home. I am
grateful for her support.

A TRIP TO
REMEMBER
February
23 - March 8, 2011
LAND OF THE
INCAS
Last week I returned from Peru
where I led a World Gospel Mission and evangelism work tour
of four men from North Dakota, Minnesota and Ohio to the
city Cuzco, Peru. This city has over 350,000 people and is
located in the Andean Mountains at 11,200 feet above sea
level. Once known as the capital of the Inca Empire, it
takes in 1,500 tourists per day during the tourist season,
who come to visit the nearby Inca ruins of Machu Picchu.
WORKING
HANDS
The team did an awesome job
working on church-related projects, whether it was preparing
a floor for cement pouring, or building a roof and sanctuary
platform. We also worked on two homes, installing walls, a
water tank, and temporary windows for a lady and her two
children who had been living in a tent. What a testimony and
impact the men made on lives as they reflected the spirit of
Christ in spite of the language barrier.
RECEPTIVE
HEARTS
I also was privileged to speak
in five different churches, where God wonderfully blessed
His Word at two youth rallies, two leadership workshops on
evangelism, and congregational meetings. Over 20 people
sought Christ for the first time, such as the husband and
wife who were saved following a church dinner; or the
invalid grandmother who received Christ in her home; or the
teenage girl who eagerly sought Jesus following a Sunday
morning service; or the young man selling ice cream, who
after reading a track given by a work team member, repeated
the sinner's prayer.
THANK YOU
The team is deeply grateful to
David and Cathlene Strong, World Gospel Mission missionaries
in Cuzco, who hosted us and did a beautiful job organizing
the work schedule and speaking engagements.
And my heartfelt thanks to each
of you who, through your prayers and contributions, made
this trip possible.
